A total goals bet is on the combined goals of both teams, over or under a line.

Total goals is the simplest market that is not about who wins. You bet on how many goals the two teams score between them, over or under a line the sportsbook sets. The line’s shape, half, whole or quarter, decides whether a tie is possible and how your stake is split. These are the standard settlement rules most books follow; the rules page inside a sportsbook always has the final say.

Total goals over under, line by line

Total goals over under markets list several lines for the same match, each at its own price.
Quarter lines
A quarter line splits the stake in two.
- Over 2.25: half on over 2, half on over 2.5. With 2 goals, half pushes and half loses.
- Over 2.75: half on over 2.5, half on over 3. With 3 goals, half wins and half pushes.
- Under 2.25: half on under 2, half on under 2.5. With 2 goals, half pushes and half wins.
Example with round numbers: ₱200 on over 2.75 at decimal 1.90 with exactly 3 goals. The over 2.5 half wins ₱100 × 0.90 = ₱90 profit; the over 3 half pushes and returns ₱100. You get ₱290 back from ₱200.

Prices on total lines
Lines near the expected total are priced close to evens on both sides; lines far from it price one side short and one side long, like a favourite and an underdog on a match price. If your book shows those prices in Indo format, read the Indo odds sign first.

What does over 2.5 goals mean?
The bet wins if three or more goals are scored in total. Two or fewer and it loses. A half line cannot push.
Does extra time count in total goals?
Common practice is regular time plus stoppage time only. Extra time and penalties usually do not count; check the sportsbook's rules.
What happens on over 3 if exactly three goals are scored?
The bet is a push and the stake is returned.
